Since 1988 she has been working as a teacher at mainstream and Special Education Schools, she seconded as researcher at the Pedagogical Institute (2000-2003). Since 2008 she works as specialized teacher at Centers of Diagnosis, Differentiated Diagnosis and As-sessment of Pupils with special educational needs of Athens and the last eight years as di-rector of the Center. She served as Director of the Special Educational Needs Department of the Ministry of Educations (2015-16).

Ioannis Grapsas has studied Chemistry at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and continued his studies at Univerist\u00e9 de Nancy I (France), obtaining D.E.A. in Organic Chemistry. He received his Ph.D degree in Chemistry in 1991 from the Agricultural University of Athens for his research on chemical synthesis of antibiotics. His research interests led him later to a 3-year academic stage at Wayne State University (U.S.A.), where he worked as a Research Associate in Bioorganic Chemistry. In recent years he followed a 2-year graduate studies programme at Open University of Greece, obtaining MSc. degree in Environmental Management (2015). He has published several papers in top international journals of Chemistry, e.g. Journal of the American Chemical Society, Tetrahedron, Journal of Organic Chemistry, etc.
Since 1994, he is a Science Teacher in secondary public schools in Athens, having taught classes of Chemistry, Physics and Biology. He has showed interest for lifelong learning, having taught for over 1,500 hours in teacher professional development courses and he has worked for 3 years as a Studies and Research Officer at the National Centre for Public Administration (EKDDA) with duties on professional development courses for public servants. He has been a lab and experiment enthusiast in science teaching and he has served for more than 6 years in positions promoting the integration of experiment and ICT methodologies in everyday teaching practices. He has also served as Head of upper secondary schools, completing a 5-year experience in administrative positions. He is co-author of official student notebooks and lab manuals and he has taken part in various official initiatives for updating and improving science curricula. Current affiliation is with the Institute of Educational Policy (I.E.P.), where he serves as Scientific Counselor. She has also worked at the Cyprus Institute of Genetics and colaborated with the University of Cyprus Biology Department, as special teaching staff. She has been working for the Department of Secondary Education since 2005, having served at all levels of secondary education, teaching Biology. For a number of years, she has held a part-time post at the Pedagogical Institute Cyprus (CPI) where she has been involved in support programs (short and long term, pre-service and in-service), designed specifically for Biology teachers as well as teachers of other scientific disciplines, and has been offering training to teachers through relevant seminars at CPI. Dr. Irene Kleanthous completed her PhD studies in Mathematics Education at the University of Manchester in 2012. She is a holder of an MSc in Educational Research with Mathematics Education (2008) and a MEd in ICT in Education (2006) from the same university. She obtained her BA in Primary Education in 2005, from the University of Cyprus. Her doctoral studies were funded by the School of Education (University of Manchester) and the A.G. Leventis Foundation (Cyprus). She was involved in various research projects at the University of Manchester, where she worked as a Research Assistant for three years. Irene also worked as a Scientific collaborator at the European University of Cyprus, where she taught educational research methods and didactics of mathematics. She is currently working at the Centre for Educational Research and Evaluation (CERE) as a researcher and as a school teacher in primary education. She is coordinating the project Ellinomatheia, which measures immigrant students\u2019 competence in Greek as an additional language, in all public primary schools of Cyprus. Dr Panagiota Konstantinou completed her undergraduate studies in Mathematics at the University of Cyprus in 2001. During her PhD studies, her research focused on Geometric Topology. She then worked as a lecturer at Frederick University from 2006 to 2011. She has also frequently worked as an instructor for Quantitative Methods in the MidCarrier-MPA Summer Program at Harvard Kennedy School during past summer terms. Currently she is employed by the Ministry of Education in Cyprus teaching mathematics to high-school students as well as\u00a0 working on the curriculum development of mathematics for high school. A. in Mathematics (University of Texas at Austin), and Teacher\u2019s Certification in Primary Education. She has engaged extensively in research and has established a respected research record through numerous publications in scholarly international journals and books, and repeated invitations to participate in international conferences. Indicative EU-funded programs in which she has participated in the capacity of coordinator or research collaborator, include H2020, Erasmus+, LLP-Grundtvig, Socrates Minerva and Comenius, Leonardo da Vinci, Tempus, and Eureka. All of these multinational programs focus on technology-enabled STEAM education, specifically on the use of serious games and other technological tools in STEAM teaching and learning at the school and higher education level, and in vocational training. Marios Vryonides is Professor of Sociology, Sociology of Education and Research Methods and Dean of the School of Humanities, Social and Education Sciences. He served as National Coordinator of Cyprus in the European Social Survey (European Social Survey) from 2007-2013 and 2017-2019 and represents Cyprus in the \u03a4hematic Committee for the social changes of Horizon 2020 of the European Union. This period he coordinates the program ESOI (European Safe Online Initiative) funded by the EU. In the past he coordinated programs such as: (a) ELMIP (Learning Models in Empowering Prison), (b) PEBBL BAsic Education and SKills Training in Prisons (2013-2015), (c) FREE (Fundamental Rights Education) (European Commission funded program) and (d) \u201cChildren\u2019s voices: exploring the interethnic violence in school environment\u201d (2011 \u2013 2012). These programs are practical applications of educational research, a discipline that he teaches in higher education in the past 16 years. Tasos Anastasiades is an Assistant Professor at the European University Cyprus. In 2004, he started publishing “Plastic Comics\u201d, the first comic book series created in Cyprus. In 2014, he illustrated the graphic novel titled \u2018Fascista\u2019 and became a publishing partner and contributing artist at the first Cypriot comic book anthology titled \u201cCurrent\u201d.Tasos has been involved in numerous cultural events and in 2017, he was selected by the Cyprus Embassy in Romania and the Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture to represent his country at the 5th European Comics Festival organized by the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC). Dr Angelos Sofianidis is a Research Collaborator at the Department of Education at European University Cyprus, an Adjunct Faculty Member of the Department of Early Childhood Education at the University of Western Macedonia (Greece) and Adjunct Faculty Member of the Educational Department at the University of Nicosia (Cyprus). He owns a PhD in Science Education (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki), a Master in Education (Didactics of Chemistry and New Educational Technologies, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens) and a BSc in Physics (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki). He has participated in professional development programmes regarding Special Education and Intercultural Education (University of Aegean). His research interests focus on the promotion and use of collaborative approaches in Science or STEAM Education (Early years, Primary and Secondary Education), on the use of immersive technologies in Science or STEAM Education, and students\u2019 inclusion in Science or STEAM Education with respect to their diverse needs and teachers\u2019 professional development on the abovementioned areas. He works in European-funded projects focusing on the knowledge assessment and inclusion of migrant students on Science and Math education (Augmented Assessment), immersive technologies and game-based learning in STEAM education (ImTech4Ed), the promotion of STEM skills in disadvantaged women in order to foster their start-up entrepreneurship (FA-ST) and on students\u2019 skills development on Open Science (ENREAC-HEI).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Dr. Nayia Stylianidou is a Scientific Collaborator at the Department of Education, European University Cyprus. She holds a PhD in the area of Inclusive Education (European University Cyprus), MA in Special Needs (University of Nottingham) and a BA in History and Archaeology (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki). Her research interests focus on Inclusive Education, Disability Studies, Disability Studies in Education, Universal Design for Learning, Blended Learning, Augmented Reality, Alternate Reality Games, Teachers\u2019 professional development, Media Literacy. She has participated in projects involving teachers, and students from disadvantaged backgrounds with regards to education, digital technologies and immersive technologies (eg. Living Book: Augmenting Reading for Life). Dr Andreas O. Kyriakides is a primary school teacher and a scientific collaborator at the Department of Educational Studies of European University Cyprus. Having got his BA in Elementary Education (University of Cyprus), he earned a Fulbright scholarship to study at the USA. He obtained an MA in Curriculum and Teaching (Michigan State University, USA), and then a PhD in Mathematics Education (The Open University, UK). In the field of Teacher Education, he has taught various undergraduate and postgraduate mathematics education courses both in the USA and in Cyprus. He is interested not only in training prospective and in-service teachers to acquire the mathematics knowledge base but also in sharpening their sensitivity to the complexities of learning and directing their attention to practices and constructs which can inform preferences when teaching mathematics. His research is committed to understanding and acting upon issues evolving within the classroom context. Particularly, a great part of his work deals with the design of theory- and technology-based classroom interventions to help address students’ learning difficulties and support the development of mathematical understanding. His research projects involve a diverse group of participants, from kindergarteners to university students, teachers and paraprofessionals working in schools.<\/p>

Davinia Hern\u00e1ndez-Leo is Full Professor at the Department of Information and Communications Technologies Department (DTIC) at UPF, the head of the Interactive and Distributed Technologies for Education group (TIDE) and Commissioner for Research in Educationa Innovation at UPF.\u00a0She obtained a degree and a Ph.D, in Telecommunication Engineering at University of Valladolid, Spain, and has been visiting researcher at Open University of the Netherlands, Fulbright Scholar at Virginia Tech and visiting academic at the University of Sydney. She has published extensively and received several awards, including best paper awards and the European award for excellence in the field of CSCL technology. She has also received Teaching Awards (Vicens Vives) and the ICREA Academia Award from the Catalan Government in 2019.<\/p>

Prof. Hern\u00e1ndez-Leo has been\u00a0Vice-President of the European Association for Technology-Enhanced Learning,\u00a0a\u00a0Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions of Learning Technologies,\u00a0and\u00a0is currently an elected member of the CSCL Committee within the International Society of the Learning Sciences and\u00a0member of the Steering Committee of the European Conference on Technology-Enhanced Learning. She is very active in research supervision (PhD students, visitors, etc.), in participation and lead of European and national projects, and in collaborations with companies, non-profit organizations, policy makers and private foundations.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

Her research activity is broadly centered on the domain of learning technologies, spanning fields such as learning design technology, computer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL), community platforms, learning analytics, and architectures and devices for learning.
